What's a good store or website to get scrapbooking supplies from?

I am an avid scrapbooker and while I usually find what I need at A.C. Moore, Hobby Lobby and Michael's I am wondering what, if any, websites (or other craft stores) have a large variety of inexpensive supplies. I am currently looking for stickers, die-cuts and rub-ons that have to do with friendship, sisters and family. I'm just wondering if anyone has found a reliable site that has what I'm looking for. Thanks.

Check out TLC, They are having a special through the month of May. $350 of scrapbook supplies for $90. They have stickers, rub-ons, chipboard, paper, everything and cute kits!

Christmas is one very enjoyable event. There are so many things to do on Christmas - besides eating of course. When you wish to create a Christmas scrapbook, you'd want to buy embellishments early so that you wouldn't miss out on sales and discounts. Still, if you don't have time to buy proper embellishments, why not use some of your old Christmas stuff at home?

Decoration Pieces

What's so good about scrapbooking for Christmas is that you get to keep all the broken tiny pieces of Christmas tree decorations as scrapbook embellishments. Whether it's the snowman, angels, Santa Claus or his reindeers, you'll always be able to find good space for them in your scrapbook. At least you'll be able to put yourself at ease after spending much money on them when you get to use them a second time.

Garland

One decoration that is very easy to break, because it's plastic and you won't really realize it until it's broken, is the garland. Still, since it's shiny and very Christmas-sy, once it tears down to smaller pieces or sheds tiny thistles, you'll be able to use it for outlines, borders and for highlighting other special scrapbook embellishments. You won't even need ribbons!

Gift Tags

The best thing about gift tags is that they are personalized and because of Christmas, contains cute and tiny Christmas images. You won't even need to spice it up with other scrapbook embellishments! All you have to do is find pictures relating to the gift tag and paste the gift tag over the photo's frame.

How does one remove old scrapbook glue from paper pictures without damage to paper?

glue is white in color so might be old paper paste glue.

Not sure if this suggestion will work, especially if the photos are printed regular paper used for printing.

There's an "eraser" that's special for removing adhesive called "adhesive remover" it may have other names. I'm not sure if Michael's carries it or not but you might have better luck finding it at a local art store. If you need help to identify what it looks like you can go to www.stampinup.com and look at the catalog online. The item you're looking for is on page 191. I believe it has a weird texture to it and is harder than a pencil eraser.

I hope this was helpful.

What are some good scrapbooking ideas I can on a scrapbook about Coco Chanel?

I want some really good ideas so I can really make my teacher impressed. What are some good ideas? Anything,... from paper to layout of a page, anything please..i have some ideas myself, but i want to make it the best it can be..

What about a "then and now" page. You could show all of the trends that Chanel started and then flip through current magazines/websites to show all of her classic designs and how they are still being used today.
She made suntanning fashionable so you could find an ad for sunless tanning lotion. Also, there is the "chanel suit"...see if you can find a current one; the little black dress; pearls and so on.

Are you or someone you know an avid reader?  Try making a personalized bookmarker so you will never lose your place. You can make several of these in no time at all using cardboard and antiqued looking wrapping paper.  What a quick way to create art with decorative scrap paper and your own personalized 3-D foam letter, as you will find out by reading below.

Begin by selecting a scrap piece of wrapping paper that resembles time gone by.  If you do not have any left over wrapping paper, you can find some very inexpensive paper at your local craft store.  For this project an antiqued looking sports theme was used in a flat finish (tan, brown, black and olive).   Using scissors, cut the wrapping paper in to two 8 in.H x 2 in.W strips.  Next, cut one piece of thin scrap cardboard in to an 8 in.H x 2 in.W piece to match in size the two strips of paper you have already cut and set aside.  Spray artist adhesive to one side of the cardboard and apply one of the wrapped paper strips to it, smooth out any wrinkles and allow time to dry, approx. 5 minutes.  Next, flip the quickly to be finished custom book marker over and repeat the same process on the other side.  Now, to add the personalizing touch to your project, add a 3d foam letter sticker for scrapbooking to the front side of your marker.  For this project we used a cream colored S letter, 1.5 in. x 1.5 in..

That is all there is to it.  A nice simple scrapbooking craft, and a special and personalized custom book marker.  A great classroom craft for teachers, or just the rest of us everyday home crafters.

Supplies:

  • Decorative scrap wrapping paper (Flat finish)
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Artist Spray Adhesive
  • 3D Foam letter sticker for scrapbooking (One letter, size 1.5 in. x 1.5 in.)

What Kind of paper do you use when digial scrapbooking?

Ok. I'm not even started digital scrapbooking yet. I'm waiting for my MICROSOFT MS DIGITAL IMAGE SUITE to arrive in the mean time I am totally confused at what kind of paper to use. Do I use scrapbooking paper and will the picture show up or "bleed"? Or do I have to buy photo paper?

I have all my pics on my computer and I see in digital scrapbooking magazine really awesome set ups but I'm just not sure about what paper to print on.

Thanks

I do regular scrapbooking, as well as some pages done completely on the computer with my scrapbooking software. I used to use good quality photo paper for this purpose... but I ran into a problem. I found that in my case, the photo paper would "stick" to my sheet protectors in my scrapbook, especially in the dark areas where a lot computer ink was used. I didn't like this result at all, because the page looks glossy and darker in the areas where it was "sticking" to the cover sheet. So, after experimenting with a lot of different papers, I found that using Epson (or probably any brand is fine) matte brochure paper works great. That paper isn't glossy at all. The photos look pretty good printed out on this, and it is even a little cheaper than photo paper. My outlook on this is, if the photos start to fade over time, I can always re-print them out years from now. I save my scrapbook page files forever on an external hard drive.

Hope this makes sense. If you don't use sheet protectors, or you are not witnessing the "sticking" problem, then use some high quality photo paper.

One other option, if your scrapbooking software allows you to export your scrapbook page as a "jpg" or "bmp", and doing so doesn't lose too much quality.. you could get an 8x10 photo developed of your scrapbook page at any online photo developing place... the cost will be more but you'll get a nice glossy photo of your entire page and not worry about using up paper and ink. My software doesn't allow me to do this though.
